The Primary areas of the Firm’s general legal practice are:

Property & Investments: The Bahamian government is actively encouraging external investment in the Bahamas. Accordingly, the Firm advises foreign investors on numerous matters including the acquisition of real estate, property for resort development purposes, or a second or retirement home; the residency and immigration requirements to meet the foreign person’s objectives. Investment guidelines, various places of legislation concerning incentives, concessions and encouragement to foreign investment; application and licensing procedures and the formation of the Investment plan for the project; and tax advantages.

Litigation: The Firm boasts of an experienced civil litigation department which provides an essential resource for corporate and individual clients to call on whenever the need arises.

Probate & Administration: For many years the firm has assisted clients by rendering advise on the inheritance laws of the Bahamas and the proper administration of estates.

Immigration: The Firm advises the International business community on the necessity as well as the procedures and relevant fees for work permits for key personnel from abroad and annual or permanent residence for major international investors and owners of residences valued at U.S. $500,000 or more.

International: The Firm handles international tax planning, trust, estate matters and structures for overseas corporate and private clients. Its long-term links with international banking centres and tax havens especially in the Caribbean and Europe enhance its capability of assisting clients in other jurisdictions.
