Project Proposal Guidelines

An International Investor seeking to do business in the Bahamas should submit to the Bahamas Investment Authority a project proposal along with supporting documents. The proposal should provide the following information:

    1. Name.

    2. Address (include telephone/fax).

    3. Description of Proposal: An executive summary of the project.

    4. Type of Business: State whether entity is a share company, partnership, individual or joint-venture.

    5. Principals: Persons investing in the venture or major beneficial shareholders.

    6. Proposed location: Land or factory space requirements.

    7. Proposed start-up date.

    8. Management/Personnel Requirements: Years of experience, training, success of similar, previous or current activity, work permits (if any) required for key personnel and/or non-key personnel.

    9. Employment Projections: Number of Bahamians and non-Bahamian employees.

    10. Capital Investments with breakdown in phases.

    11. Financial capability including bank letter of credit or a net work statement.

    12. Environmental Impact: Toxic, waste, disposal procedure, toxic input, etc.

    13. Concessions sought: customs duty exemptions, etc.

    14. Local representative: Attorney, Accountant or Agent.
