ANTHONY THOMPSON & COMPANY was formed in April 1980 by Attorney Thompson, Esq. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia, Canada; and a LLB from the University of London. He was called to the Bahamas Bar in 1978.
His daughter, Antonia Thompson-Carey joined the Firm in 1992.
Mr. Thompson, the senior partner, has extensive experience in commercial banking and financial matters. He has served on the boards of directors of Bahamian commercial banks, The Central Bank of the Bahamas, insurance companies, real estate resort development entities and trust corporations. For several years, he was an officer of the Bahamas Government's Ministry of Finance, and is the author of "An Economic History of the Bahamas".
The Firm's attorneys are members of the Bahamas Bar Association, the Bar of England & Wales, and the International Bar Association. Mrs. Carey is also a member of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (F.I.D.A).
